PRAY FOR PEACE
The absence of world peace is a
sore that can be treated two ways;
-
Praying against war and
for safety of our military and our land, and for the safety of all
who put their lives on the line for us; is "first-aid",
to lessen the symptoms.

Praying to cure the root
cause of the "sore" is the long-term solution.
We need to do both!
Jesus wants us to have His Peace, "a
peace that the world cannot give". Just think, if everyone had
the Peace of Jesus, the cure of the "root cause" would be
complete.
Saint Paul tells us, (Galatians 5:13-26) that
we will have "no peace", but rather "destruction"
if we fail to live according to the spirit and thus yield to the cravings
of the world. Furthermore, "PEACE"
is a FRUIT of the Holy Spirit.
Peace is not a GIFT, it must be cultivated
by us. Beginning in our families. WE are the Prime movers for PEACE.
We need to pray for a repentant attitude. We are called to repentance
of our ways during Lent, but why not extend it to always? With simple
prayer and sincere devotion to God, we can conquer our weaknesses and
be a force for Peace in the World.
Remember the words of the Peace Song:
Let there be peace on Earth,
And let it begin with me.
PLEASE consider making a commitment to
God to pray every day against all evil in the world.

Examples of what we can do and pray:
- PRAY FOR THE INTERCESSION OF SAINT MICHAEL
THE ARCHANGEL:
| O GOD, SEND SAINT MICHAEL YOUR ARCHANGEL TO DEFEND US IN THE
BATTLE; AND TO PROTECT US AGAINST THE WICKEDNESS AND SNARES OF THE
DEVIL. O GOD REBUKE SATAN, WE HUMBLY PRAY, AND CHARGE YOUR PRINCE
OF THE HEAVENLY HOST, BY YOUR POWER, TO CAST INTO HELL, SATAN AND
ALL THE OTHER EVIL SPIRITS, WHO PROWL THROUGH THE WORLD, SEEKING THE
RUIN OF SOULS. AMEN. |
- MAYBE FASTING AND SACRIFICE ;
| DEPRIVING OURSELVES OF SOME OF THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD, ARE
OTHER WONDERFUL WAYS TO PRAY WITH OUR ACTIONS. REMEMBER TO OFFER THEM
TO GOD FOR THE INTENTION TO FORTIFY OUR WILLS AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF
EVIL, AND TO FILL US WITH THE PEACE OF JESUS. |
- OR, SAY A MORNING OFFERING PRAYER WHEN YOU
LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR, FOR EXAMPLE:
| O GOD, I OFFER TO YOU ALL MY THOUGHTS WORDS AND ACTIONS OF THIS
DAY. I DESIRE THEM TO BE AS PRAYERS AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF EVIL AND
TO FILL OUR HEARTS WITH LOVE. |
BE A DISCIPLE OF PEACE:
| INTEREST YOUR WHOLE FAMILY, YOUR FRIENDS AND YOUR NEIGHBORS IN
THIS CAUSE FOR PEACE. |
